Fur Boot Sizing Guide - Tips to help you find the right boot

The best way to know which size fur boot to get is to try it on. However, if you are buying over the Internet that is rather hard. There are some steps to take to ensure that you get the right size.

You can measure your foot with a Brannock device. This device can be found at any shoe store. Make sure you note the length AND width of your foot.

Decide what kind of socks you will normally wear with your fur boots. You want to wear socks with them because your feet sweat, especially in such insulated conditions, and you want something there to soak up the sweat. If the fur boots you're buying are lined on the inside and on the outside you may not want to wear extra heavy socks with them. If they are relatively thin you can wear heavier socks, and in that case you would want to buy the boots a half size or a full size bigger.

Keep in mind that every size up is one-third inches larger than the previous boot. Good boots will not stretch length-wise, and will stretch a tiny bit width-wise.

Remember that as you grow older your feet grow, even if you have passed your growth spurt. Like your nose and ears, your feet never stop growing. You don't want to buy a pair of boots that's exactly the right fit or a little snug because you will grow out of them. It is better to get them a little big. We're not saying buy them a size too big, but you should be able to wiggle your toes, or wear a thick sock, to be able to grow into them.

You can also use a heel insert or insole insert to compensate for a fur boot that's a little too small. This also gives you added support.
